Jerry DiCanio

Executive Vice President, Production Operations

Veteran studio executive Jerry DiCanio was named Executive Vice President, Production Operations of NBCUniversal’s TV production companies in June 2004, shortly after NBC and Universal combined to form one company.
 
DiCanio is currently responsible for overseeing all production for one of the industry’s largest and most successful television production studios, Universal Television. Some of the studio’s hit series include “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Fire” (and its spinoffs), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Superstore,” among numerous other programs.
 
Prior to 2004, DiCanio served as Senior Vice President, Production Operations and Finance, NBC Studios, where he was assigned to oversee all of NBC Studios’ and NBC Enterprises’ production and financial operations including financial reporting and analysis, production accounting and product marketing analysis.
 
DiCanio, who had previously served as Vice President, Production Operations and Finance, joined NBC Studios in May 1994.  Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Finance, for Viacom Productions since November 1990.  In this position, he was responsible for all of the financial aspects of development and production of network and cable projects.
 
Earlier, DiCanio was Vice President, Finance, Viacom Productions.  He joined Viacom in 1982 as a staff accountant and held a number of New York finance positions and also served as Manager of Financial Planning and Director of Finance, West Coast.
 
A graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting, DiCanio also earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from St. John’s University.
 
DiCanio is active in the Boys and Girls Club of America, having served as a board member with the Simi Valley (California) branch.  He resides in Simi Valley with his wife, Michele.  He has twin children, Katharine and Drew.
