As EVP Strategy & Insights, NBCUniversal, Cardinale and his team are tasked with producing an insights-informed vision to drive consumer and revenue growth in NBCU’s core businesses, while prospecting for new ways to engage consumers and expand the company. The group is particularly focused on topics relating to changing consumer needs and motivations, product & marketing optimization, data and measurement strategy, and consumers’ relationships with brands, video and digital platforms, and entertainment and leisure of all types, to help guide the company toward successful new investments.
Prior to this role, Cardinale was EVP, Brand Planning and Strategic Insights in NBCU’s Entertainment & Digital Networks division, running the analytics function and providing brand, content and monetization guidance for a portfolio including Bravo, Oxygen, Telemundo, Sprout, Fandango, and the NBCU Integrated Media Group. He joined NBCU in 2005 as VP Research at Bravo.
Prior to NBCU, Cardinale served as SVP of Strategic Insights at ZenithOptimedia, leading cross-platform planning and buying analytics on brands including BMW, Toyota/Lexus, T Mobile, L'Oreal, Armani, Garnier, Nestle, General Mills and HP, among others. Cardinale started his career in research roles at Comedy Central and NBC News.
Cardinale holds an M.A. in Television and Film Studies from Northwestern University and a B.A. in American History from the State University of New York at Albany.
