“Late Night” Is Best in Its Timeslot and Improves Season-to-Date Average in 18-49
NEW YORK – Dec. 22, 2020 – For the week of Dec. 14-18 and the third time in the last four weeks, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” won the 18-49 demo against CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
The .30 rating in 18-49 for “The Tonight Show” was the show’s second-highest-rated week this season, just slightly behind Thanksgiving week. The rating was also 15% above its season average.
At 12:30 a.m. following “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” also won in 18-49 against timeslot competitors “Late Late Show with James Corden” and “Nightline.” “Late Night” also improved on its season-to-date average.
The Dec. 14 “Late Night” telecast was the highest-rated Monday show since June 1.
