‘TONIGHT’ DOMINATES THE SEPT. 7-11 LATE-NIGHT WEEK WITH ITS TOP 18-49 RATING SINCE APRIL, MOST-WATCHED WEEK SINCE MAY

“Late Night” Rules at 12:35, Equaling Its Top-Rated Week Since April

Thursday’s Post-NFL “Tonight” Is the Show’s Highest-Rated Telecast Since December, Seth Delivers His Top Episode Since Thanksgiving

NEW YORK — Sept. 15, 2020 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has dominated the late-night ratings week of Sept. 7-11 with its highest weeklong average in adults 18-49 since April and most-watched week since May, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

“Late Night with Seth Meyers” matched its highest weekly 18-49 average since April and delivered its best week in total viewers since June.

Fallon and Meyers won their timeslots versus ABC and CBS competition in 10 of 10 key ratings categories – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers (including a tie in women 18-34 at 12:35 a.m.).

Thursday’s post-NFL edition of “The Tonight Show” earned a 0.74 adult 18-49 rating and drew 2.621 million viewers overall, highs for a “Tonight” original since Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019 (0.79 in 18-49, 2.684 million viewers overall, also following primetime NFL football).

Thursday’s “Late Night” (0.42 in 18-49, 1.412 million viewers overall) scored that show’s best result for an original in both 18-49 and total viewers since Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, 2019 (0.54 in 18-49, 1.954 million viewers overall, also on an NFL night).

For the week, “Tonight’s 0.35 rating in 18-49 is the show’s highest since the week of April 20-24 (0.36) and its 1.691 million viewers overall is its best since May 25-29 (1.866 million).

“Late Night’s” 0.22 in 18-49 equals the show’s strongest since the week of March 30-April 3 (0.24) and the show’s 949,000 viewers for the week is a high since June 1-5 (958,000).

Season to date, “Late Night” ranks #1 versus “Late Late Show” in all key ratings measures – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.
