Kelly Clarkson – host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and Telemundo’s Elva Saray and Sofía Lama – starring in “El Secreto de Selena,” will host special half hour programs for NBC and Telemundo stations to highlight heartwarming pet adoption stories from NBC and Telemundo owned stations’ 2019 Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign

NEW YORK, NY – (August 22, 2019) – Audiences everywhere can tune in to NBC and Telemundo stations beginning Friday, August 23 (check local listings) to watch a recap of the stations’ 2019 Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign that resulted in over 135,000 pets (and counting) - finding new homes. The special shows will feature adoption stories from this year’s pet adoption drive and exclusive celebrity content from PEOPLE – the leading entertainment news brand, and heartwarming animal stories from The Dodo, the #1 digital media brand for animal people, and the #1 most engaged with media brand in the world on mobile.

NBC and Telemundo Stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign spanned from July 27 to August 17, and included the participation of 1982 shelters, and 98 NBC and Telemundo stations. Since 2015, NBC and Telemundo owned stations’ Clear the Shelters campaign has resulted in over 385,000 pet adoptions, with this number continuing to grow as shelters report in.

Telemundo’s Sofía Lama will co-host a half-hour “Desocupar Los Albergues” special with Elva Saray of Telemundo 52 / KVEA. The special will air on Telemundo stations on Saturday, August 24 (check local listings). The special will also air on TeleXitos network on August 25 (check local listings).

Kelly Clarkson is among the most popular artists of this era. Beginning Sunday, August 25, U.S. audiences will see Lama portray journalist Maria Celeste Arrarás on Telemundo’s “El Secreto de Selena” (Selena’s Secret), an investigative series revealing details about Selena Quintanilla’s tragic death, an adaptation of on the bestselling book by three-time EMMY® winning Telemundo journalist, María Celeste Arrarás. At Telemundo, Lama has played numerous important and leading roles for fan-favorite series, including “Sin Senos no hay Paraíso,” “Pecados Ajenos,” “Dueños del Paraíso,” “La Casa de al Lado,” "Rosa Diamante" and "Eva la Trailera", among others.

Elva Saray is host of Acceso Total a lifestyle entertainment show that airs on weekdays in 33 Telemundo markets. Saray has been recognized with two Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards including an award in 2017, for her role as show host and reporter of “Desocupar los Albergues” the special half-hour show that recapped NBC and Telemundo owned stations’ Clear The Shelters third annual campaign. She is also a frequent collaborator on Telemundo Network’s entertainment special Acceso VIP which provides audiences with access to celebrity interviews and behind-the-scenes accounts of the most important events in Hispanic music such as Latin Billboards and Latin American Music Awards. She joined Telemundo 52 / KVEA in 2011 as an entertainment reporter. Before this, she worked as an entertainment news reporter and host for other Los Angeles based programs.
