“TONIGHT” RANKS #1 FOR THE ENCORE LATE-NIGHT RATINGS WEEK OF AUG. 31-SEPT. 6

“Late Night” Rebroadcasts Win the 12:35 a.m. Hour

NEW YORK — Sept. 9, 2020 — Encore telecasts of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” have won the late-night ratings week of Aug. 31-Sept. 4 head to head versus the ABC and CBS competition in the key adult 18-49 demographic, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research

In their head-to-head half-hour from 11:30 p.m.-midnight ET in adults 18-49, the “Tonight” encores outrated ABC’s rebroadcasts of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.23 to 0.22, as well as adults 25-54 (0.35 vs. 0.33) and total viewers (1.375 million vs. 1.232 million). “Tonight” ranked #1 vs. “Kimmel” in 10 of 10 key measures (including a tie in men 18-49).

Versus encores of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” from 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. ET, Fallon’s 0.20 prevailed in adults 18-49 versus Colbert’s 0.17. In adults 25-54, it was a 0.31 for Fallon and a 0.27 for Colbert. “Tonight” topped “Late Show” in nine of nine key demos – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, rebroadcasts of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” finished #1 versus encores of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54 (0.17 vs. 0.15).

Season to date, “Late Night” ranks #1 versus “Late Late Show” in all key ratings measures – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.
