PREMIERE RANKS AS MOST-STREAMED SERIES PREMIERE IN NETWORK HISTORY
NEW YORK, NY – November 30, 2018 – Bravo Media’s original limited event series “Dirty John,” starring Connie Britton and Eric Bana, launched as the network’s most watched scripted series telecast ever, reaching a combined L3 average audience of 3.8M total viewers across all platforms and airings (including Bravo, USA, E! & Oxygen premiere night encores). The Bravo premiere telecast on November 25 at 10PM ET/PT delivered an average L3 audience of 826k P18-49, 1M P25-54 and 2.1M total viewers, growing to 1M P18-49, 1.3M P25-54 and 2.5M total viewers when accounting for viewing across all digital platforms.
The premiere solidified “Dirty John” as a top 10 new scripted series on ad supported cable in 2018 among total viewers and P25-54, as well as establishing itself as Bravo’s highest rated series premiere in almost 3 years in total viewers.
Fans were able to watch the first episode of “Dirty John” ten days ahead of the on-air premiere via YouTube, BravoTV.com, Video On Demand and the Bravo Now App, where it delivered a total of 530,000 views. Additionally, in the first three days following the premiere, the episode became Bravo’s most-streamed series launch ever.
Based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast with over 30 million downloads from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, the series tells the cautionary tale of how a whirlwind romance between Debra Newell (Britton) and the charismatic con-man John Meehan (Bana) spiraled into a frightening web of deception, denial and mental terror that nearly tore a family apart.
Created by Alexandra Cunningham and directed by Jeffrey Reiner, the eight hour-long episodes are produced by Universal Cable Productions (UCP), in association with Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment. Cunningham and Reiner both serve as executive producers along with Richard Suckle and Charles Roven for Atlas Entertainment; Mark Herzog, Christopher G. Cowen and Chris Argentieri for Los Angeles Times Studios; and series stars Connie Britton and Eric Bana.
