Las Vegas, NV – (April 8, 2019) – Telemundo Las Vegas / KBLR announced that Catalina Mejia has been named Multimedia Journalist. Mejia joins Noticiero Telemundo Las Vegas on weekdays at 5 PM, 5:30 PM, 6 PM and 11 PM. Mejia’s on-air debut will be April 25.

“Catalina joins our team after working for our very strong Washington, D.C. NBC and Telemundo TV stations, in one of the busiest news markets in the country. I’m certain that her skills and expertise will help us strengthen our already strong team, and help us solidify our position as the preferred Spanish-language news station in the valley,” said Marialcy Carreno, News Director of Noticiero Telemundo Las Vegas.

Mejia joins KBLR after working as a Production Assistant for NBC 4 and Telemundo 44 in Washington, D.C. since 2018. In this role, she wrote, produced and reported for the stations’ newscasts. Previously, she collaborated with Capital News Service, where she reported on Maryland State legislature and contributed to vlogs, podcasts, 360 videos, live streams and web documentaries. Mejia earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish from the University of Maryland.
