NBC Sports Network to Re-Air Match on Sunday, October 18th in English at 2pm ET

MIAMI – October 14, 2020 – Telemundo Deportes continues exclusive coverage of Chivas de Guadalajara home matches with Matchday 14 of the LigaMX Guard1anes 2020 tournament featuring two Guadalajara based teams: Chivas, C.D. Guadalajara, versus Atlas F.C. in what is known as the “Clásico Tapatío. Exclusive coverage of the match will air on all Telemundo Deportes platforms including pre- and post-match coverage on Universo beginning at 7pm ET/ 4pm PT, live match coverage beginning at 7:55pm ET / 4:55pm PT on Telemundo, English-language coverage on SAP and simultaneous coverage on the Telemundo Deportes App.

Live match coverage will be followed by the Futbol Estelar Chivas Extra post-game show on Universo at 10pm ET / 7pm PT and later by TYM: Zona Mixta on Telemundo with the Chivas dedicated segment, “Junto al Rebaño.” Additionally, fans can catch an encore airing of the match in English on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) on Sunday, October 18th at 2pm ET / 11am PT following the network’s Premier League coverage.

With more than 100 years of history, the Clásico Tapatío is one of Mexican football’s oldest clásicos, dating back to Atlas’ founding in 1916. Comparable to the classic Premier League rivalry, Manchester United vs. Manchester City, this local Guadalajara derby pits Mexican national giants, Chivas, with broad international support, against fellow local club, Atlas, who despite only winning the league championship once, maintains a strong local fan base. In this weekend’s match Chivas hopes to maintain their winning streak over their local rival having claimed victory in all three of the clubs’ most recent matchups.

Telemundo Deportes’ pre/post-game and halftime coverage will be led by Emmy-award winning expert Miguel Gurwitz alongside the analysis of Mexican soccer legend and former Chivas player, Carlos Hermosillo. Saturday’s match coverage will again be led by five-time Emmy winner Andrés Cantor providing play-by-play commentary alongside the analysis of Mexican soccer star, Manuel Sol, and Chivas TV’s Arantza Fernandez as the match’s field reporter.

Pre-game coverage on Universo will include a special report on the history of El Clásico Tapatío, led by Guadalajara’s own Arantza Fernandez; an exclusive interview with Chivas Manager, Víctor Manuel Vucetich by Telemundo Deportes’ Carlos Hermosillo and Miguel Gurwitz; an interview with veteran LigaMX manager for both Chivas and Atlas and 1978 World Cup Champion, the Argentine Ricardo La Volpe by the award-winning Andres Cantor; and a “Fuera de Juego” segment by Ana Jurka featuring an interview with Chivas Femenil star, Alicia “Licha” Cervantes.

Telemundo’s coverage of Matchday 14 will also include an opportunity for fans to participate in the network’s pre- and post-game analysis via social media using #ChivasenTelemundo.
