SAN JOSE, CA – (November 24, 2020) – Telemundo 48 Area de la Bahia/KSTS announced today that Claudia de la Fuente will join the station as a reporter and anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 48. De la Fuente, whose first day at the station will be on November 30, will join Telemundo 48’s dynamic team of reporters to deliver live, local breaking news for the Bay Area’s Hispanic community.
“Claudia is a strong reporter who seeks to connect new generations with journalism and stories of their people to empower the Latino community,” said Rossyris Silva, Vice President of News at Telemundo 48. “We are excited to have her join the Telemundo 48 news team and welcome her to the Bay Area.”
De la Fuente was most recently an anchor for KBLR Telemundo Las Vegas where she was the co-anchor for the stations evening newscast. During her time there she received an Emmy for Best News Anchor in NATAS Pacific Southwest. She was also nominated for Emmy’s in the categories of news special and human interest.
Prior to joining Telemundo Las Vegas, De la Fuente worked as anchor and reporter for Televisa Monterrey in Mexico, one of the pioneering television stations in the country. She began her television career in 2011 as a commercial content producer and talent coordinator for TV Azteca. She was also a radio host for Grupo Radio Alegría, addressing current and political issues, and a columnist for the newspaper Publimetro in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
De la Fuente earned her degree in communication studies with a specialty in advertising from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico.
