SAN JOSE, CA – (May 8, 2019) – Telemundo 48 Area de la Bahia/KSTS announced today that Claudia Simonés will join the station as a weekend reporter for Noticiero Telemundo 48 Fin De Semana as well as multimedia journalist for Noticiero Telemundo 48 weekdays at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 PM. Simonés, whose first day at the station will be on May 13, will join Telemundo 48’s dynamic team of reporters to deliver live, local breaking news for the Bay Area’s Hispanic community.
“Claudia is a strong breaking news reporter who has covered some of the biggest stories that matter to Hispanic viewers in the state of California,” said Rossyris Silva, Vice President of News at Telemundo 48. “We’re thrilled to have her join our news team and welcome her to the Bay Area.”
Simonés was most recently an MMJ for Entravision Communications at the Univision affiliate in San Diego where she worked for 2 years covering a number of big stories including the immigration crisis at the border with Mexico. Prior to that she was an MMJ at Univision affiliates in Palm Springs and McAllen, Texas for Entravision Communications.

A West Coast native, Simonés earned her degree in communications and broadcast news from San Diego City College. While in college she was awarded a student Emmy for her report Stories de la Frontera.
