A Call for Nominations
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., January 19, 2021— CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced it is accepting nominations for its ninth annual Disruptor 50, a definitive list of the most ambitious, innovative private companies transforming the economy and forcing public giants to reimagine the way they do business.
The deadline to submit the official nomination form, found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QQGRY3Z is Friday, February 12 at 3pm ET.
To be eligible to submit, companies must be privately held, independently owned, and founded after January 1, 2006. Nominations may be submitted by any company founder or executive, investor in the company, or any of their communications representatives.
Nominees will be put through a comprehensive and rigorous process of researching and scoring, across a wide range of quantitative and qualitative criteria, including scalability, revenue and user growth, and workforce diversity.
In 2020, more than 1,350 companies submitted nominations from around the world and across every sector of the economy. The fifty companies that made the final cut proved to be at the center of trends accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, including cybersecurity, telemedicine, and food delivery. Last year’s list is also living up to the Disruptor 50 mission of identifying the next generation of great public companies. Since it was released last June, eight of the companies named to the 2020 Disruptor 50 list have gone public, while two others have announced plans to become public via mergers with special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), part of a booming new trend.
Winners will be notified in April and the list will be announced in May across CNBC’s TV and Digital platforms.
