PHOENIX, AZ – (October 26, 2020) – Telemundo 39 / KTAZ, announced that Gabriela Martínez has been named multi-media journalist for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona. The newscast airs Monday through Friday at 11:00 AM, 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Noticiero Telemundo Arizona is simulcast on Telemundo 40 / KHRR. In her capacity, Martínez will also be creating bilingual content for the station’s digital platforms. Martínez’s on-air debut will be today.
“Gabriela will work with our outstanding news team to continue to produce content that informs and empowers Arizonans,” said Miguel Gaytan, Vice President of News for Telemundo Arizona. “She joins us in a unique time as we explore English journalism for the LatinX audience.”
Prior to joining Telemundo 39, Martínez did an internship as Production Manager with Univision San Diego / KBNT-CD at the beginning of 2020. Previously, Martinez served as presenter for the student-produced newscasts Al Día, Titan Weekly and The Report in California in 2019.
Martínez earned a degree in Communication from California State University in Long Beach, CA. Most recently, Martínez earned a Spanish for Hispanic Media Certificate from California State University in Fullerton, CA. Martínez is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).
