Tops ABC and CBS for 15th Straight Quarter in Key Demo
SEPTEMBER 24, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the 2018-2019 season and the third quarter of 2019 (3Q’19), according to Nielsen Media Research data.
MTP won across the board for the third consecutive season. An average of 3.285 million viewers tuned into the broadcast during the 2018-2019 broadcast season, topping ABC’s This Week by +17 percent (+467,000) and CBS’ Face the Nation by seven percent (+213,000). This marks MTP’s best total viewer streak since the 2011-2012 broadcast season.
MTP continues to dominate in the key demo, winning the season with an average of 805,000 A25-54 viewers. MTP topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits: ABC by +22 percent (+146,000) and CBS by +20 percent (+132,000). This marks MTP’s fourth straight win in the key A25-54 demo and the show’s best demo streak since the 2011-2012 season.
MTP also won the third quarter of 2019 across the board, marking its seventh consecutive quarter at #1. MTP averaged 2.804 million total viewers, topping ABC by seven percent (+178,000) and CBS by four percent (+116,000). The Sunday show has beaten ABC in total viewers for 17 consecutive quarters.
The network broadcast also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers and averaged 650,000 A25-54 viewers. MTP topped ABC by eight percent (+48,000) and CBS by +11 percent (+66,000). This is MTP’s 15th consecutive quarterly win in the key demo.
