SAN JOSE, CA – (November 7, 2019) – Telemundo 48 Area de la Bahia/KSTS announced today that Guillermo Quiroz will join the station as weather and traffic anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 48 weeknights at 5, 6 and 11pm. Quiroz, whose first day at the station will be on November 11, joins Telemundo 48’s award-winning news team as the only meteorologist in local Spanish-language TV in the market.
“Guillermo brings more than two decades of on-air experience informing the Latino community on atmospheric conditions and climate change,” said Rossyris Silva, Vice President of News at Telemundo 48. “We're pleased to have a meteorologist with his talents and expertise joining our team.”

Most recently Quiroz was the meteorologist for KMEX, Univision 34 in Los Angeles. During his time there he also delivered local forecasts for Univision affiliates in the Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield, along with stations in Southern California and the Southeast. Prior to joining KMEX, he served as the meteorologist of Nuevo Dia for Televisa in Puebla, Mexico and as a columnist for the Mexican editorial organization El Sol the Puebla.
Quiroz studied communications at Escuela de Comunicación y Ciencias Humanas in Puebla, México, where he received his license in radio and television. He is currently a solar system ambassador for NASA where he hosted and produced a downlink, connecting in live transmission from Earth to the ISS (International Space Station Mission #54 NASA).
Quiroz is a recipient of six Emmy® awards as well as four Golden Mike awards and has been nominated for a national Emmy® award for participating in the community service campaign Leer Es Poder (Reading is Power).
