We start in the trees where we meet some of the most interesting, and interesting looking, monkeys in the animal kingdom. These proboscis monkeys will show us how they gather food while escaping predators. Speaking of predators, we will then go into the rivers for a closer look at crocodiles who are hunting for their next meal. We then head up to the highest peak of Malaysian mountains where we find all types of wildlife, including the pitcher plant. We then head to the home of the Malaysian orangutan and try to escape the grip of their biggest predators.

We begin with exploring the vast fields where local hog deer graze. But it’s not always a safe meal for these deer, as they become the target for Indochinese tigers. We then head to the forest and see some of the world’s most fascinating and oldest trees, which are home to all different types of monkeys. Gibbons and macaques live side by side in the canopy but have some unfriendly neighbors to deal with. We then head to the Kra Isthmus where we’ll run into some incredible creatures who call the cave home.

Later, when Chloe the boxer experiences episodes of collapse, she’s brought to Dr. Regan Williams for a heart examination. An arrhythmia in Chloe’s heartbeat could reveal a dangerous condition called boxer cardiomyopathy.

Springer was a drummer boy for the Union Army. At the battlefield, Paul and Kalina learn that Austin was taken prisoner by the Confederate Army but escaped and hid in slave huts until he made his way back to the Union Army. Paul, a Vietnam veteran, connects his own experience and believes that being a combat vet is in his genes.

We start on the IndyCar track with one of the sport's most popular and successful drivers, Will Power. After winning races all over the world, there was one track that stood in his way - the infamous Indianapolis 500. This white whale of a race was the toughest for Power to catch, but as his name suggests, he willed himself to victory by never giving up. Then, we head to the golf course to meet golfer Cameron Champ. His career at Texas A&M was met with challenges, but also success. But the real struggle came off the course with his family, and the cultural challenges that they had to endure. Then, we stay on the course and drive the long ball with Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson's Amateur Open win not only sparked his career, it also sparked the attention that helped saved his father's life. Plus, we take a dip with Carson Foster. The young swimmer is making waves in the sports world with his record-breaking performances. But no success comes without hard work, and Foster's regime is as disciplined as any other athlete in the world.

On this epic journey, we will explore the most exotic creatures living in the river, as well as the animals who depend on the river for food and shelter. This includes a puma who uses the river for water, as well as a hunting ground for its prey. We then meet the wild-looking four-eyed fish, as well the fiddler crabs who need to hide from a high-flying predator above. We then try to imagine what it would have been like to be the first explorers to make landfall, and the sights and sounds they would have heard. Plus, we climb the trees to hang out with some red howler monkeys and get a firsthand experience of how they got their name.

05/16/2020 (10:30AM - 11:00AM) (Saturday) : Today on Earth Odyssey, host Dylan Dreyer takes us on a journey to South America to the dense and crowded Amazon Rainforest. On this adventure, we will follow the sound of red howler monkeys that leads us high up in the canopy. Then we march down to the forest floor to get a closer look at a colony of army ants. These aren’t the only small insects that we will see down below. We will also examine the relationship between wasps and tadpoles, as well as check out the daily activities of flies and stick ticks. After we are finished with the forest floor, we head back up to the trees where a harpy eagle is on the prowl for its next meal. This time, monkeys are on the menu, but are the monkeys quick enough to get away from this hungry harpy eagle? Plus, we head across the canopy to catch a glimpse of a slow-moving sloth.

Then we swim stroke by stroke with Michael Phelps in what was his last Olympic Games in 2016. Next, we learn how the 2016 gymnastics team proved to be a historic squad. We start on the colder side of the region where penguins rule the land. There are millions of penguins here that almost outnumber the humans that live in Patagonia. We then visit another animal who hangs out in the water, the beaver. Its dams are spread across the region and will often affect the lives and homes of the local birds. The woodpecker is among the birds affected by the amount of beaver dams. We’ll explore a day in the life of these woodpeckers to get a better understanding of their habits. We then head to the glaciers and ice fields that host a wide range of creatures. From flamingos to guanacos to pumas, these ice fields have some of the most diverse wildlife in Patagonia. We will then meet the people who live there, and explore their relationship with wild, as well as tamed horses.

The Pantanal is the biggest wetland on earth, but we begin with the animal that has more species than any other creature in the region: birds. Parakeets and parrots make their nests in the cliffs and trees, away from predators. But that doesn’t mean that they are totally safe. Predators hunt for prey all over the Pantanal, and predators even hunt for each other. We’ll see an epic showdown of power between a jaguar and a crocodile. We will then explore the circle of life that happens between the animals and locals in the beautiful South American region. From crocodiles to parrots, many different animals benefit from the relationship between the ranchers and their cattle. We then head back to the wetlands where crocs lay out in the sun next to storks, parakeets and a variety of different birds.

First, we’ll meet fencer Kamali Thompson, who is much more than just a world-class athlete. While Thompson is training for the Olympics, she is also in medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. We’ll see just how much work goes into each remarkable field. Then we'll meet veteran Rick Morales, whose heroic story overseas brought him home, but not without struggles. But there is one sport where he can find solace, peace and the ability to continue fighting. Then we'll run over to sprinter Noah Lyles. He’s primed for another shot at an Olympic medal, but he has another amazing gift that slows his mind down so he can speed up on the track. Plus, we'll meet Annemiek van Vleuten, who suffered one of the most intense crashes in recent cycling memory but wouldn’t let that stop her from getting back on the saddle. The truly remarkable feat is her fast recovery that led to faster times in future races.
