Station recognized for its digital coverage for third consecutive year
SAN JOSE, CA -- (October 13, 2020) – The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awarded KNTV / NBC BAY AREA a national 2020 Edward R. Murrow Award for journalistic excellence in social media coverage in a virtual event Saturday evening. The Edward R. Murrow Awards recognize the best in electronic journalism produced by radio, television, and online news organizations around the world.
This is the third consecutive year that NBC Bay Area is recognized with a national Edward R. Murrow Award for its digital coverage. This year NBC Bay Area was recognized for keeping its viewers informed and engaged across a wide array of news topics over multiple social media platforms in 2019. Content ranged from coverage of the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, to breaking news coverage of the Kincade wildfire that included data-driven maps, to an immersive tour of the Warriors new Chase Center, in addition to other hyperlocal digital original stories.
