NBC RATINGS FOR THE LATE-NIGHT WEEK OF OCT. 5-9

“Tonight” Delivers Its Most-Watched Week, Excluding NFL Lead-ins, Since Aug. 4-8; It’s “Late Night’s” Most-Watched Non-NFL Week Since July 27-31

Digital / Social: “Late Night” Generates the Week’s #1 Most-Viewed and Most-Commented on YouTube Video Among All Broadcast and Late-Night Shows, and 3 of the Top 5

NEW YORK — Oct. 13, 2020 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has averaged a 0.26 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.411 million viewers for the late-night ratings week of Oct. 5-9, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Excluding a week boosted by a primetime NFL lead-in, this equals “Tonight’s” top 18-49 average in “live plus same day” Nielsen ratings since the week of July 27-31 (0.27), and is the show’s highest total-viewer average since Aug. 4-8 (1.459 million viewers overall).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” averaged a 0.14 in adults 18-49 and 879,000 viewers overall. Excluding the week of the NFL boost, this matched “Late Night’s” highest 18-49 average since the week of July 27-31 (0.16) and was its top total-viewer average for a non-NFL week since that same July 27-31 week (880,000).

Digital / Social: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” delivered the post that generated the week’s #2 most content responses (166,000) and #2 most shares (27,000) among all broadcast late-night programs across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for the week, with a Twitter post celebrating one million new subscribers during the Sept. 28-Oct. 2 BTS week (Source: ListenFirst Media Brand Rankings, LF // TV UNIVERSE // EPISODIC; Content Responses, Shares; Brand Type: TV Shows; 10/5/20-10/11/20).

“Late Night With Seth Meyers” saw its “A Closer Look” videos make up three of the week’s top five most-viewed and most-commented on YouTube videos among all broadcast late-night programs across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, including the #1 most-viewed and most-commented video, “Trump having an election meltdown“ (3.4 million views and 11,000 comment, Source: ListenFirst Media Brand Rankings, LF // TV UNIVERSE // EPISODIC; Video Views, Comments; Brand Type: TV Shows; 10/5/20-10/11/20).
