With the aid of a small camera inserted into King's knee, Dr. Devon Boyd attempts to remove the fragments. Young Parsley the cat goes to the V.E.C. when his gums start to flare up, where Dr. Sharon French determines that gingivitis is the culprit. X-rays help Dr. French to determine the best path to take to help Parsley. Later, cocker spaniel Charley experiences a dizziness that has him walking into objects around the house. Dr. Debbie James suspects an infection affecting his nerves but fears it could be a tumor instead.

But closer to Evan's heart, he learns that two of his uncles, who he met when he was a child, were prisoners of war in WWII and both received Purple Hearts. After they deeply connect, the two dance at a western hall.

Then, cats always land on their feet, but after Reine's three-story fall, she'll need some rehabilitation to get her leg back to 100 percent. Will Reine sink or swim as resident rehab therapist Tracy McKenzie puts her on the underwater treadmill? Later, Cyril the cat is brought to Dr. Regan Williams to treat his high blood pressure. Since Cyril has a head tilt and has experienced brain bleeding, Dr. Williams consults Dr. Susan Cochrane to help solve the issue.

But that's not their only esteemed family member. The two also learn that they have direct ties to James Howell, who owned a large iron works company and was an integral part in building the Brooklyn Bridge.
