"THE POWER OF WILL (HOC408)"

REPEAT

01/18/2020 (09:30AM - 10:00AM) (Saturday) : Today on The Champion Within, host Lauren Thompson takes us through some of the most inspiring stories in the world of sports. We start on the IndyCar track with one of the sport's most popular and successful drivers, Will Power. After winning races all over the world, there was one track that stood in his way - the infamous Indianapolis 500. This white whale of a race was the toughest for Power to catch, but as his name suggests, he willed himself to victory by never giving up. Then, we head to the golf course to meet golfer Cameron Champ. His career at Texas A&M was met with challenges, but also success. But the real struggle came off the course with his family, and the cultural challenges that they had to endure. Then, we stay on the course and drive the long ball with Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson's Amateur Open win not only sparked his career, it also sparked the attention that helped saved his father's life. Plus, we take a dip with Carson Foster. The young swimmer is making waves in the sports world with his record-breaking performances. But no success comes without hard work, and Foster's regime is as disciplined as any other athlete in the world.

"LEAD WITH SPEED (HOC401)"

01/25/2020 (12:30PM - 01:00PM) (Saturday) : In today's episode of The Champion Within, host Lauren Thompson leads us through some of the most inspiring stories in sports. We start in St. Louis where NHL forward Jaden Schwartz has made an impact in the community. After his sister lost her battle with leukemia in 2011, Jaden started an organization in her name that raises awareness for bone marrow donors and recipients. And we see firsthand the impact the organization has made. Then, we race down the track to a story of an unbreakable bond between racers Robert Wickens and James Hinchcliffe. The two grew up together and both became professional racers. Even when tragedy struck their careers, they were always there to help each other through the darkest days. We keep the speed up on the track, but this time with sprinter Noah Lyles. He's a world-class sprinter but has many more talents. Lyles balances both sides of the brain and continues to thrive on each side. Plus, the story of one of the youngest recruits in college sports. At just 12 years old, Brad Dalke was offered a scholarship to play golf at the University of Oklahoma. But would this dream come true be too much pressure for such a young athlete?
