NBC SPORTS ANNOUNCES WEEKEND SCHEDULE FOR NHL STANLEY CUP QUALIFIERS ON NBC AND NBCSN

Round Robin Matchup Doubleheader Presented Today on NBC – Vegas-Colorado at 3 p.m. ET & Philadelphia-Tampa Bay at 8 p.m. ET

Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets Face off in Decisive Game 5 Tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN

Stars and Blues Clash on NBC – Tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET

Tomorrow’s Coverage Begins at 12 p.m. ET Between Bruins-Capitals on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. August 8, 2020 – NBC Sports today announced start times and broadcast details for this weekend’s NHL Stanley Cup Qualifiers on NBC and NBCSN, beginning with a doubleheader today on NBC.

Today’s coverage begins at 3 p.m. ET on NBC with a round robin matchup between the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche, followed by the Philadelphia Flyers against the Tampa Bay Lightning in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick will call Vegas-Colorado from his home studio, along with U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer Eddie Olczyk from NBC Sports in Stamford, and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire from the NHL hub city of Edmonton.

John Forslund will handle play-by-play duties for Philadelphia-Tampa Bay alongside analyst Mike Milbury and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher from the NHL hub city of Toronto.

Tomorrow’s coverage is highlighted by the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a decisive Game 5 matchup, with the winner advancing to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

The weekend’s NHL coverage rounds out with the Boston Bruins facing off against the Washington Capitals in a round robin matchup tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET on NBCSN, followed by the Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues in their final round robin game at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

Qualifying Round series are best-of-five and will be contested between the teams seeded 5th through 12th in each conference. The winners of those series will join the top four teams from each conference, who will play round robin games to determine seeding, in the traditional 16-team Stanley Cup Playoffs format.
