STAMFORD, Conn. – July 23, 2020 – NBCUniversal presents “Championship Sunday,” with all 10 matches presented live simultaneously this Sunday, July 26 at 11 a.m. ET, featuring coverage across seven NBCUniversal television networks and five matches exclusively streamed on Peacock and NBC Sports Gold.
Two Champions League positions are at stake on the season’s final day. Third-place Manchester United visit fifth-place Leicester City (NBC, Universo) with the winner clinching a top-four spot, while Christian Pulisic (four goals, two assists and two penalties won in eight appearances since the June 17 restart) and fourth-place Chelsea need only a draw against sixth-place Wolverhampton Wanderers (USA Network, Telemundo) to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
At the bottom of the table, three clubs are trying to fight off relegation. With two of the bottom three spots left to be filled, only one of Aston Villa (at West Ham on NBCSN), Watford (at Arsenal on GOLF Channel) and Bournemouth (at Everton on CNBC) will remain in the Premier League next season.
NBCUniversal’s “Championship Sunday” coverage kicks off on NBCSN this Sunday at 9 a.m. ET with a special two-hour Premier League Mornings, hosted by Rebecca Lowe, who’s joined by former Jamaica National Team player Robbie Earle, and former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe.
NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White will call Leicester City v. Manchester United on NBC and Universo, joined by analysts – Arsenal legend Lee Dixon and former Chelsea player Graeme Le Saux. Also, Gary Taphouse will call the Chelsea v. Wolverhampton Wanderers match on USA Network and Telemundo, joined by former Ipswich Town and Charlton Athletic midfielder Matt Holland; while Jim Proudfoot and former Premier League footballer Andy Townsend call West Ham v. Aston Villa on NBCSN.
Liverpool last month won their first-ever Premier League title and first top-flight title in 30 years. The Reds lifted the Premier League trophy yesterday at Anfield after Liverpool outlasted a superb Pulisic and Chelsea in a thrilling 5-3 win. Liverpool have now won 19 top-flight titles; only Manchester United have won more with 20. The Reds finish their season at Newcastle on Sunday, with live coverage streamed exclusively on Peacock and NBC Sports Gold.
Following are the networks and announcers for “Championship Sunday,” (live, Sunday at 11 a.m. ET):
Lowe, Earle, and Mustoe will follow the matches with an extended three hours of Goal Zone season wrap-up coverage, beginning on NBC and NBCSN at 1 p.m. ET, and continuing for the final 90 minutes at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
