PHILADELPHIA – (August 27, 2019) – Working in partnership with Raymour & Flanigan, nearly 19,000 school supplies were collected during NBC10 and Telemundo62’s third annual Supporting Our Schools supply donation drive. The donated materials will be delivered to local students and teachers by Boys & Girls Clubs, Cradles to Crayons, and the United Way. The stations’ Supporting Our Schools drive launched in mid-July and culminated on August 18.
“Too many students in our area start their first day of school without so much as a pencil,” explained Ric Harris, President and General Manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “Our annual Supporting Our Schools supply donation drive provides the back-to-school essentials kids need without putting added financial stress on parents. Thanks to the generosity of our viewers and our partnership with Raymour & Flanigan, thousands of students will have the school supplies they need to have a great school year.”
The school supply drive was highlighted by a one-day call to action on Saturday, July 27. NBC10 and Telemundo62 anchors and reporters visited several Raymour & Flanigan store locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia region to encourage local giving and conducted live broadcasts from several locations throughout the campaign.
