MIAMI – Sept. 17, 2020 - As the entertainment industry continues to evolve in this pandemic era, Telemundo scores with Falsa Identidad (False Identity) fans from coast to coast with an exclusive drive-in premiere in downtown Los Angeles and an outdoor premiere in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium. The innovative bicoastal events to present the first episode of the new season of the hit series, slated to premiere on Tuesday, September 22 at 10pm/9c, were attended by network executives, media outlets, social media influencers and lead cast members Luis Ernesto Franco and Sonya Smith.

In Los Angeles, attendees were welcomed by folkloric dancers swaying their Mexican tri-color dresses as guests arrived for the drive-in screening. The audience was also surprised with a special appearance from the series protagonist, Luis Ernesto Franco, who was introduced and interviewed live by the night’s host, Armida Mier, Telemundo 52’s Accesso Total TV presenter and popular radio show host from El Show de la Armida y la Flaka..

Shot in Mexico City and in the northern state of Sonora, Mexico, the new season picks up two years after the suspenseful finale of its first installment, which ended with the escape of Diego (Franco) and Isabel (Sodi) with her children to the United States after intense persecution by Mateo (Yáñez). This new chapter of the story will find Diego and Isabel, who assumed new identities under the United States Federal Witness Protection Program, trying to start a new life in Nebraska; and while Diego struggles to adapt to his new identity, the change has helped Isabel gain self-confidence to better herself and her family. Nevertheless, an extreme situation in their lives will trigger their return to Mexico, forcing them to face their enemies and unleashing a thrilling pursuit where they will risk it all for justice.

Created by Perla Farías, the new season of Falsa Identidad is directed by Conrado Martínez, Sergio Osorio and Moisés Ortiz-Urquidi.
