As a 23-time Finalist, Ozuna Leads the Competitive List of Artists Vying for the Coveted Awards Followed by J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee
Miami, FL – February 12, 2019 – Telemundo announced today the finalists for the 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards on the network’s morning show “Un Nuevo Dia,” the network’s digital platform PremiosBillboard.com, and Billboard.com. Leading the pack with a staggering record-breaking 23 entries within 15 categories is Ozuna, followed by J Balvin and Nicky Jam who are tied with 13 entries, 12-time finalist Bad Bunny, and eight-time finalist Daddy Yankee. This urban music supremacy comes as no surprise considering its explosion in recent years, crossing language and borders to achieve international appeal. This is clearly reflected in this year’s finalists. The longest-running and most prestigious award show in the Latin music world, produced by Telemundo and Tony Mojena/Ants TV Productions, Inc., will broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 8pm/7c from Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universo, and throughout the Americas via Telemundo Internacional. This year’s awards, which honor the top performers in Latin music, reveal a diverse group of artists vying for a distinction among 34 different categories that range from Top Latin Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year to Tour of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. The categories also highlight the genres of Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexican and Latin Rhythm. Casper Magico, Darell, Nio Garcia, and Romeo Santos are six-time finalists, while Banda MS and DJ Snake are five-time finalists. Anuel AA, Cardi B, Raymix, Reik, and Shakira have four entries each.
