DENVER, CO – (February 6, 2019) – Telemundo Denver / KDEN today announced that Rosy Zugasti has been promoted to News Anchor, effective immediately. Zugasti will join Co-Anchor Miguel Bedoy and Weather Anchor Niurma Sánchez on Noticiero Telemundo Denver at 5 PM and 10 PM. Zugasti joined Telemundo Denver in January, 2016 as a Multimedia Journalist. She served as the host for “Desde el Capitolio”, a weekly segment featuring interviews and the latest political news. She delivered the impactful coverage of the inauguration of Governor Polis. Additionally, she also led the Telemundo Responde consumer investigative team, which solved more than 51 consumer inquiries in 2018.

Throughout her career as an enterprising journalist, Zugasti has been recognized with six Emmy awards and three Colorado Broadcaster’s Association (CBA) awards. Among her award-winning journalism is a report that highlights the story of a terminally-ill child who dreams of seeing his mother, which received a CBA award in the “Best General Assignment Report, within 24 hours.” Additionally, she has been recognized as best news anchor by both The National Academy of Television Heartland Chapter and the CBA. Before joining Telemundo Denver, Zugasti worked as a multimedia journalist, fill-in news and weather anchor and producer at Univision El Paso / KINT from 2011 to 2016. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Texas.
