Miami, FL - October 12, 2020 - Telemundo announced today extensive coverage for the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2020, with three television specials surrounding the highly anticipated gala. “Detrás de la Fama” on Saturday, October 17 at 10 pm/9c will feature exclusive and in-depth interviews with some of the stars of the Billboard Latin Music Awards: Maluma, Pitbull, Carlos Vives and Becky G. “La Alfombra de Premios Billboard” will air live on Wednesday, October 21 at 7pm/6c, showcasing the glamorous arrival of the stars on the red carpet; and finally, "Billboard: Acceso VIP" will broadcast on Wednesday, October 21 after the awards ceremony at 11:35 pm/10:35c to present exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the awards show.
Stephanie Himonidis, co-host of Telemundo's award-winning morning show “Un Nuevo Día,” debuts as the host of “Detrás de la Fama,” a television special featuring exclusive interviews with established music artists who are currently at the top of their careers: Maluma, a finalist for two awards and recipient of the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award; Carlos Vives, who will perform and be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award; Becky G, who is a three-time finalist including for Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female, and Pitbull, who will perform at the awards ceremony following the release of his “Mala” remix video clip from album Libertad 548. In in-depth and revealing interviews, these four Latino superstars share their challenges, successes, and stories from their personal lives.
The most prestigious awards show in Latin music will be a star-studded event to broadcast live on Telemundo on Wednesday, October 21, kicking off with “La Alfombra de Premios Billboard” at 7 pm/6c, followed by the award ceremony at 8 pm/7c from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. "La Alfombra de Premios Billboard" will showcase the stars in the latest designer fashion and will be hosted by Rodner Figueroa (Al Rojo Vivo), singer-songwriter Natalia Jiménez, actress Sofía Castro, Jorge Bernal (Suelta la Sopa), Vanessa Claudio (Suelta la Sopa) and Stephanie Himonidis (Un Nuevo Día).
For the first time in its history, “La Alfombra de Premios Billboard” will also feature exciting musical performances, starring Dalex, one of the most popular and influential Latin urban artists and the latest craze with his new single "+ Linda"; and Dímelo Flow, the successful DJ, producer and creator of multiple urban music hits.
To close the spectacular evening, "Billboard: Acceso VIP" will take viewers on an exclusive behind-the-scenes journey of what happens with stars during the award show, hosted by Ana Jurka (Titulares y Más/En Casa con Telemundo), Rodner Figueroa (Al Rojo Vivo) and Carlos Adyan (En Casa con Telemundo).
The Billboard Latin Music Awards will coincide with Billboard’s Latin Music Week, a three-day virtual experience dedicated to Latin music, culture, and entertainment.
