TELEMUNDO DENVER PROMOTES PAMELA PADILLA TO NEWS ANCHOR

DENVER, CO – November 16, 2015 – Telemundo Denver / KDEN today announced that Pamela Padilla has been promoted to News Anchor, effective immediately. Padilla, who joined Telemundo Denver in February 2015 as a Multimedia Journalist, is a passionate story-teller who has reported the Denver metro area’s most impactful news, including the Aurora Theater Shooting trial, the story of Arturo Hernandez living in a local Denver-area church for more than six-months and the Republican Presidential Debate at the University of Colorado-Boulder. In her role, she will join Co-Anchor Guillermo Martinez and Sports Anchor Carlos Rausseo Anchor on Noticiero Telemundo Denver at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM, to deliver local breaking news and information to Spanish-speaking viewers throughout the Denver metro area.

Padilla joined Telemundo Denver in February 2015 as a Multimedia Journalist. Her passionate story-telling has allowed her to report the news and information that matters most to the communities the station serves. Padilla joined Telemundo Denver from Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXTX, where she served as a web editor from 2013 to 2015. Prior to this, Padilla worked at Univision 33 Phoenix / KTVW from 2012 to 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Arizona.

In 2014, the Telemundo Station Group benefitted from a significant investment made by NBCUniversal in the stations to better serve the flourishing Spanish-speaking community. Thanks to the investment, Telemundo Denver launched a new weekday half-hour local newscast at 4:30 PM MT; rolled out new on-screen graphics, visual designs and a website; and hired newsroom staff to support the boost in local news. In June 2015, the station moved to a new state-of-the-art news facility, located in the Comcast Media Center in Centennial, Colorado. The new 6,500 square-foot news center features the latest technologies and enhancements to help the station deliver the highest quality and most relevant news to its viewers.
