Telemundo’s Coverage of EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Summer Cup Regional Tournaments to Stream Across the Network’s Digital and Social Platforms

MIAMI – July 23, 2020 – Telemundo Deportes continues the network’s comprehensive coverage of FIFA’s best global sporting events with the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Summer Cup, a remotely produced online tournament played exclusively on PlayStation 4. Beginning Friday, July 24th Telemundo will give fans access to both the South and North American regional tournaments each featuring eight top-ranked players as they battle to be named the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Regional Champion and take home $30,000 in prizes respectively. Coverage will be available to Telemundo viewers via the network’s social and digital platforms, including, the Telemundo Deportes App, Twitter and YouTube.

Among the eight-top ranked participants in each regional event, the South American tournament will host Argentine player Yago "WestHamYago" Gabriel Fawaz of Premier League’s West Ham United F.C. eSports team in Group A, and Brazilian eMLS player Paulo Neto of Atlanta United in Group B. The South American competition will be hosted by Carolo Vazquez, with play-by-play commentary by Enrique Alejandro Allegretta AKA “Paleta”.

Just days later on July 31st at 12:00 PM ET, viewers can tune into Telemundo Deportes’ coverage of the North American tournament featuring two of Mexico’s top players: 2019 FIFA eNations Cup Finalist, VillaMore, and one of the top three players of the region, Timbers Tigre. Also competing is FIFA eWorld Cup 2020™ World Champion COL MaXe (USA) and FC Cincinnati’s Gordan Thornsberry AKA “FCC Fiddle” (USA), who rose to fame as the runner up in the 2018 FIFA Global Series and eWorld Cup tournament. Telemundo’s coverage of the North American tournament will be anchored by resident eSports expert, Randy Romero, and feature a series of professional player and eSports experts to provide exclusive commentary and insights throughout the 3-day event. Both the South and North American tournament will feature analysis by Twitch streamer and FIFA content creator, PatanRex.
