Rugby Experts Diego Pessolano and Pablo Moreno Will Call the Action with Former Argentinean Rugby Star Alfredo “Alfi” Lalanne Serving as Special Guest for Select Matches
Miami – October 18, 2019 – Telemundo Deportes, the home of the Biggest, Best, Global Sports in Spanish-language, will present live coverage of the 2019 Rugby World Cup as the tournament enters the quarterfinal phase. Coverage includes the anticipated quarterfinal between England and Australia on Saturday, October 19 at 3:15 a.m. ET, live on Universo and the Telemundo Deportes app, followed by the semifinals – October 26-27 – and the Final on November 1.
Telemundo Deportes’ coverage will be led by rugby experts Diego Pessolano calling the matches alongside the analysis of Pablo Moreno. In addition, former Argentinean Rugby star Alfredo “Alfi” Lalanne who also played in England, will serve as special guest for the quarterfinal and the final match.
The Rugby World Cup has been the biggest rugby tournament since 1983. The event is held every four years and features the top 20 international squads from all over the world. This year’s tournament is being held across 12 different cities in Asia, including stadiums in Tokyo, Sapporo and Yokohama that will also serve as Olympic venues during Tokyo 2020. The pool play round consisted of 40 matches – divided amongst four pools of five nations each. Those that moved forward to the quarterfinals are Australia, England, New Zealand, Ireland, Wales, France, Japan and South Africa.
